We’ve all done it, planned to bake and then realised the eggs are in the fridge! So here’s a quick tip to get them to room temperature quickly.
Pop them in a bowl of luke warm tap water for 5 minutes until they loose their chill.
I posted this tip on Twitter and it created a debate about whether you store eggs in the fridge or not. The advice from the health authority is that they’re kept in the fridge as room temperature isn’t consistent enough (and sometimes not cold enough) and eggs need to be stored at 20C or lower. So why are they kept out in the supermarket? Because supermarkets are much colder than our kitchens.
Where do you keep your eggs?
